SPECTACULAR GRIPEN TWILIGHT DISPLAY DURING AFB OVERBERG AIR SHOW

A Gripen C of the South African Air Force, flown by Lt Col Blokkies "Cobra" Joubert, performed a stunning twilight display on Friday 20 April 2012 at the AFB Overberg Air Show.

AFB Overberg, situated 160 kilometres (100 mi) south-east of Cape Town near the most southern point of Africa, is the home to the SAAF’s Test Flight and Development Centre and the Gripen Flight Test Centre.

The sequence flown by Joubert displayed the grace, power and beauty of the Gripen to the invited guests, with judicious use of the afterburner enthralling the appreciative spectators.
